How come what I paid in October is $50 less now

I ordered the watch within weeks of it becoming available.  I paid the full price because I really needed the watch because I'm A Fib.  Now one month later the price dropped $50.  I know discounts occur on Black Friday but if you buy the watch when its first introduced I would have hoped   for some kind of discount.  I really feel like I overpaid.  Has this occurred to anyone else?

Hi @DRR2538  your posts were merged to keep your responses in one thread. None of us know when something will go on sale and there are sales all the time. Back to school sales, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and so on and so on the sales are out there. Some retailers have their own sales, too. I'm sorry you're upset, but when you ordered, you paid the price for that time. Example: I recently took advantage of a 20% sale on aromatherapy oils and it was good for one day only. My friend wanted to order, but the next day, it was 10% and last year, I was the one who didn't get the larger discount. It's the nature of the beast for retail sales.

I was a marketing major so I have some knowledge how retailing works.  Normally I would agree with your response about sales prices.  However, I received your first mailing on September 13th offering a pre order opportunity before the watch was available. I purchased the watch at this introductory price in October.  I would think that your sales department would have known  in October about the price deduction for November.  I don't have the exact dates handy but I believe I was in your return period when the sale was announced.  If I was smart I should have returned the watch for a full refund and purchased it again at several retailers that still offer this reduced price.  In good faith I purchased the watch before the ECG App was available. This is an App that I need because I am A Fib.  I have had your model 2 and 3 watches and I really was happy to upgrade to the 5.  I now wonder if I should be looking into other smart watches for future purchase.

@DRR2538 I'm just a user of the Fitbit, not an employee. Not sure how Fitbit sales are done, but I only worked in retail in a basic position.

If you are just a user like me we need to get someone from Fitbit to respond.  Do you know anyone that can be contacted?

I've owned many Fitbits, and they tend to be released either in the spring or in the fall. After a while, you learn to not buy the fall releases until the Christmas season, because you will always get a discount for waiting just a couple months. A cynic might say that Fitbit makes sure to release the new devices at least 30 days before they start doing their Christmas discounting.

Good to know.  I'll remember next time a new issue comes out.

I just bought mine here in Norway on a Black Week offer, with a $50 discount. Today it’s back to normal, expensive price so I was lucky. The battery on my Alta HR started to uncharge very fast.
