How to activate premium purchased with charge 5

I recently purchased a Charge 5 from fitbit.com with an additional 1-year premium membership and 2-year protection plan. I created an account when I got the watch, but was not prompted to activate the premium I already paid for. How do I activate this? Do I also need to activate/register the protection plan for it to be valid?

Hi, @Gld315 , hopefully the instructions below will work.  If not, please post again - there is always someone here to help.

  1. If Fitbit Premium is available in your region, you'll see a Premium tab in the Fitbit app. Tap the Premium tab.
  2. Read the overview, and tap the button to get started.
  3. Choose a 1-year or monthly subscription to start after your trial, and follow the instructions to subscribe.

I'm having the exact same problem! I don't want to pay twice! I also purchased the charge 5 and same plans. It's very frustrating

We already paid for a one year premium subscription when we ordered the device from fitbit. It doesn't give us the option to redeem our prepaid subscription.

I figured out why it didn't work for me. My wife bought me it and set up an account under her email for the prepaid one year premium plan and two year protection plan. So I installed the app and set it up using my email address. All I had to do is log into the app using her email address then go in settings on the app and switch the email address connected to the account. A verification will be sent to the original email address. Hope this helps

To Be clear.  My initial set up of the app I used my email which is why I didn't have the one year premium plan. She told me she had to set up an account on the website using her email account when she ordered it. So I used her email on the app then switched it to my email in the settings. Turns out the website an app are connected. So long story short, whenever or whoever ordered the plan off the website, they made an account and that account has the one year protection plan and their email is what you have to use when setting up the app the first time
