I love my Charge 5!

I’ve had some sort of Fitbit for years, from the belt version to various wrist models.  I’ve only had my Charge 5 for a couple months (my Charge 4 went belly up) but I’m already in love. These are the functions that I find fantastic:

*I can see the screen even in the bright sunlight of SC!  It’s amazing.  I *never* could with the 4. Ever.

*This allows me to actually monitor my heart rate so I can adjust my pace to stay in my zone.  That is huge.  I know I’m becoming more fit because of it.  I’ve seen that I have to push myself more to stay in my zone HR.

*The ECG function is so helpful.  When I feel a flutter, I run it.  I’ve always thought these were anomalies but the ECG gives me some peace of mind.  Even though, as a retired nurse practitioner, I realize no ECG on any brand of fitness tracker is wholly accurate, I trust mine enough that I relax & wait to tell my PCP about my flutters if they’re persistent.

*Although there have been some bumps along the way, a factory reset straightened everything out.  (Thank you Customer Service!)  I mourned the loss of data that hadn’t synced that day but I got over it pretty quickly.  Perhaps this would be a solution for many of the complaints about the 5 that I’ve seen posted.

*The Display Settings are much better than the 4.  I always wished I could get something beyond “Normal”, “Dim” & “Default” brightness on the 4.  Charge 5 solves that issue.

I have one *teensy* bit of feedback.  While I’ve set the vibrations at the highest level, the reminder for hourly steps is weaker.  That’s a huge problem when I’m engrossed in a good movie or book, as I don’t even feel it.  Since I’ve had the 5, I’ve gotten 12 out of 12 hours maybe once; my 12 out of 12 with the 4 was much better.  OK, I admit, sometimes it’s because I got distracted by something during the 10-minute window (like, Oh! This would be a great time to start the dishwasher!), but more often it’s that I simply didn’t feel it.  Would Fitbit strengthen the vibration for this function, please?

i was actually looking for *another* tracker that might be better than my 4.  However, I bought the Charge 5 because Wirecutter—my go-to product evaluator—rated it as the best.  I agree; I’m with Wirecutter.  And I have no regrets.
