So, how far over 134 can I go? Yesterday I had a max BPM in Peak at 156 BPM. I called support, and the lady told me I could go to 200. That can't be right. The 156 worries me. HELP?

If you’re using this as a medical device, I’d look into other options. Otherwise, move the device on your wrist. Different locations can give different readings. The other day, while warming up on my exercise bike, it alerted me to Peak performance at 173BPM. I readjusted and it went down to under 100.

There are inherent inaccuracies in any device like this. In fact, it is not an FDA certified medical device and should not be relied upon as such. Since the app update I have noticed recordings of very high heart rate which make no sense at all, such as peak level on a walk to the mailbox. This is why I have decided to trash my Fitbit as soon as my new Garmin comes in the mail.

Hello @FatCat64
I'm a 70 year old female. When I do my cardio workouts, my heart rate can go quite high into my peak range, often 160+. Since I see those peak heart rates only during my workouts for relatively short bouts of time, I don't worry too much about it.
The best person to provide guidance is your doctor or healthcare worker, if you are concerned about high peak heart rate during your workouts. Your doctor should be able to tell you what to watch for, including heart rate during exercise.
