I still can't track Row on my Charge 5

I have been using Fitbits since the introduction of the Charge 3. I have currently upgraded to a Charge 5. Despite repeated requests to Fitbit, I still cannot “Track” a row. In order to track it, I have to select run or walk, but then I cannot change the exercise to “Row” subsequently and retain the nice map with my route and mileage on it.
I have seen lots of similar requests but no action, instead paddle boarding shows up!

Hello @dcsapper and welcome to the Community.  I sympathize with your opinion about limited exercise shortcuts.  Please try the Outdoor Workout shortcut on the Charge 5.  The Outdoor Workout is designed for non-step based outdoor activities.  This isn't available on the Charge 3.  Fitbit made a mistake on that shortcut icon.  It used the same icon as the Interval Workout.  If I remember correctly, the Charge 4 showed a figure in a kayak.  It has GPS.  You can change the name of an Outdoor Workout in the app, using the Categorize Exercise option.  I don't know if Rowing is an available option, but certainly worth a try.

@LZeeW , thank you for this. I tried it out today and it recorded my mileage and gave me a map, but I cannot change the exercise from outdoor workout to rowing. My options are:

Bike

canoeing

cross country ski

golf

hike

intervals

kayaking

paddleboarding

rollerblading

run

skating

skiing

snowboarding

surfing

walk

rowing is not on the options list.

thanks for your help

@dcsapper   Even though you can't change it to rowing, Outdoor Workout is still a better option.  Sounds like you aren't in a canoe or a kayak.  A single scull, maybe?  Can you live with changing it to canoe or kayak?  Maybe not.  It's your choice.

@LZeeW , yes I was in my single scull today. I also row in pairs, doubles, fours, quads and eights, so I’m hoping that Fitbit will add rowing as an activity.
