hi, I've had the charger 5 for about 2 months now and no issues until I went for a swim and left it on. my Fitbit still had a about 76% charge last I checked but after I checked again in a few minutes, it was completely dead. I tried charging it when I went home and won't take a charge. It does not vibrate when I plug the USB and heats up after a few minutes of charge. I tried rebooting it by pressing the end of the USB 3 times and still no results. I tried what was suggested here and leave in the bag of rice for 24h and also no results.

Hey - I don't have any advice on this but I just wanted to chime in and let you know I'm facing the same issue. I have had my Charge 5 for a little over a year, it's never given me a single issue. Saturday I wore it in the pool (I wasn't even swimming, just hanging with my daughter in the shallow end) and it drained from about 70% to 0% that day. I charged it before I left for the day Sunday and only let it get to about 60% before I had to go - it died half way through the day. This morning I let it charge up to 100% after reading the forum and it has done better, but I've gone from 100 to 40% in a single day. Apparently it isn't as water resistant as it claims.

Guess there's no response from fitbit, this is so trash.

I had this same problem back in September when I was in Italy. Was on a boat and it got wet and went dead. First time it ever got wet. Plugged it in when I got back to the hotel and it got hot very fast. Fitbit wound up sending me a new device in October and as of yesterday, it was not syncing and now is totally dead. Spoke with customer service yesterday and today and despite giving me a case number, I have not received a follow-up email yet. I think it is out of warranty so I don't think they will replace it. Looking into other trackers because I am fed up. Three devices in one year is ridiculous. Apparently this is a very common problem with the Charge 5.
