I see a lot of posts, but no answers on this topic. I've owned a Fitbit Charge 5 for almost 2 years now and generally pleased, but... I'm now getting wild swings in heart rate readings during my runs. At a steady pace on relatively flat surface, I'm getting readings above my peak rate, then suddenly dips below the fat burning range. Will try to verify with my Polar Heart Rate chest monitor but... could this possibly be a battery life issue? Seems strange that it just started after fairly consistent readings earlier... any clues? Careful not to wear the unit too tight...

Hi, @BarnicklBill It's nice to see you around, welcome back to the community!
Thanks for explaining to me about this situation with the heart rate during a run on your Charge 5.
I wouldn't think this is in regards to the battery life, can you complete the following steps, please?
- Tighten the strap so it doesn't move on your wrist. You can click here for further information.
- Use the strap provided with your device.
- Use the training app to record GPS data, click here for more information.
- Restart your device, for steps on how to do this check this.
I hope this finds you well, thanks for your efforts!
