Inaccurate heart rate on Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi

I see that Fitbits do not track heart rate very accurately when people are exercising and I understand the reasons why

I also use a chest strap heart rate monitor when exercising which is very accurate and record that on an app called Wahoo

Is there a way of inputting that Data into my daily heart rate on the Fitbit app so I’m getting more accurate readings of what I’m actually doing?

TIA Nick

Fitbit cannot take input heart rate info from any other source.

Thanks for the reply

Shame that it can’t but is also so inaccurate with its own tech

Wahoo clearly shows me rowing with an average HR of 139 and a peak of 164 over 30 mins while Fitbit showed an average of about 90 and a peak of 118 in the same period

Thanks Nick

I, and many others, agree it would be great to be able to take input from a chest strap during some workouts but afraid that ship has sailed long ago.

I was only looking for data captured from
Rowing on a Concept not a Ship 😳

But seriously- What do you mean the ship sailed long ago ?

If Wahoo can make its data available - which i see it can to Strava then why can’t Fitbit have an API to pull that HR data into FB?

Thanks Nick

I just meant people have wanted that for years and I expect if it ever were going to happen, it would have happened long ago, though I'm sure it could be done.

As for APIs, I'm not into those but google seems to be eliminating, not adding, as have gotten rid of third-party clock faces and apps.

OK understand - shame they cant do this but I guess it undermines their device if they have to get data from other sources that their device should be getting itself

Re APIs - they cost to build and then to maintain as they connect 2 or more unmanaged systems (creating or consuming data) that can change at anytime and so the API has to be adapted to keep things connected and hence a cost - but a shame that this could not be a 3rd party, community managed API, that could run off data schemes published by @Wahoo and @Fitbit - come on guys publish this and enrich the possibilities?!?
