If the weather is extremely cold and I do not feel like using the treadmill I tend to go to my local mall and do a couple of inside laps. My fitbit mapping shows a ton of jagged lines all over the route and tells me I walked roughly 2.6 miles in a single lap of the mall inside. I assure you that this mall can not be more than perhaps a mile of at the most 1.25 miles. Is there a way to get an accurate measurement inside using the fitbit instead of it giving me false credit for a mall walk?

You are likely getting bad GPS signal inside. I suggest turning off GPS, so get distance calculated as just number of steps times stride length. Without knowing which tracker you are using and how you are recording walk, procedure might vary. If using Exercise App, look for option to turn GPS off.

Ah...I was in the "charge 5" section so I assumed it would be for that tracker? anyways thanks for the advice. I will check to see how to turn it off.

Should have been obvious it was Charge 5; sorry I missed that. In the Exercise App, after you choose Walk, you can change the settings for that exercise type. You can see a little arrow at the bottom of the screen; swipe up from that and you will see several options, including GPS, which you can turn off there. But that will leave GPS turned off by default for all walks, so you might want to remember to turn it back on for outdoor walks.
