My Fitbit charge 5 only last 1.5 years and stop detecting anything(no data in sleep, step, heart rate), can only use as a watch, while the battery only last 2-3days.

I tried to restart + change usb charge port+ update charge 5 in the app, neither of them work.

Did you update it recently? That may help.

Hello @Doris-ng

Do you see a green light on the back of your Charge 5? You can check by putting your finger across the back, then lift your finger. You should see a green light when you lift your finger. The green light is the heart rate sensor. If you don't see it, then that's why you're not getting heart rate and sleep data.

Other things to check are:

  • Heart Rate is enabled in the Settings menu
  • Do Not Disturb and Bedtime modes are not enabled

Sometimes, these settings get changed without our awareness. So, it's worth checking.

It's because it belongs in the trash. I had two. Got it for fitness tracking and sleep. They both read about 50bpm below peak hr, sometimes wouldn't sync, had unreliable sleep data, etc. Fitbit quality has tanked in the last 3 or so years. I recommend target practice.

Yes, I updated and the problem persist.

Thanks Rieko
Just tried finger across the back, no green light and no heart rate detected.

And checked settings are enabled.😂

Hello @Doris-ng

Since you don't see the green light, that would mean that your device is defective and would explain why your Charge 5 isn't showing heart rate or sleep data. You could contact Fitbit support (<-- click link). However, since your Charge 5 is over a year old, I'm not sure there's much they can offer.
