Is HR always on screen possible on my Charge 5?

Hello helpful people -

Is there a way for me to configure the Charge 5 so that

  • HR is displayed prominently without having to touch the device once I've started a workout
  • The display stays on (or comes on quickly with an arm shake)

Maybe this is a matter of finding the right clock face?

Here's why I'm asking: I've purchased a Charge 5 to replace an old wrist heart rate monitor. The Charge 5 is clearly overkill but I thought I'd have fun with the extra bells and whistles. However I can't get what I want most: HR monitoring always on screen while I'm working out.

Thank you for your help

If you are using the Exercise App, it shows a stat on middle row of screen; tap to change stat displayed.  One of choices is heart rate.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've tried that, and perhaps should try it again, but it seems like the screen shifts on it's own to some other screen.

Hi @mjs9876543210

Since you are interested in seeing your HR at a glance, I suggest a clock face that displays that metric. I use the Runliner clock face since it displays HR without having to scroll to another screen. The other clock face that displays HR is Slashed.

If you want a calm looking display, try the one called Target. It has 5 symbols on the screen including HR. Tap the screen to change it to the one you want to always see. It stays on your choice until you change it.
