When using the charge 5 to track a walk, I have to wear the watch open to the air otherwise my jacket or coat can switch what is on the screen and is able to pause or stop the tracking of an exercise without me noticing. However, when it is raining, the rain can also cause the screen to do funny things like stop tracking the exercise. Is it possible to use the screen/water lock whilst tracking an exercise?

@Rich_Laue Thanks for sharing the Charge 5 Product Manual.
@VickuSmith Hi there. Thanks for the detailed information shared.
Currently the Water Lock feature will turn on only from the main screen or while you're swimming. If you'd like that this could be an option in the future, the best place to make your voice heard is our Feature Suggestion board, those are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans.
Hope this helps.

See page 17-18 of your user manual @VickuSmith. it gives instructions on turning on the water lock.

The water lock feature you've mentioned is only available from the main clock screen and not whilst tracking an exercise. How do I turn it on whilst tracking an exercise?

To be clear...are you finding that if a sleeve covers the device while you're tracking...the ability to accurately track your activity is compromised? How in the world will this not be a massive problem! Winter is coming, jackets and gloves will need to be worn for outdoor activity.

Yes, walking in the rain is consistently bad; once the sleeve is soaked, I think the longest it tracked without stopping was 0.7 miles. In hindsight, I think it may have also happened with sweat in the past. I had a couple of bike rides that mysteriously stopped tracking, both after a climb when I was sweaty.

Same issue here. I kickbox and the inside of my gloves keep turning off the tracker. It’s useless when I have sleeves or gloves on
