I was wearing my Charge 5 at the beach, battery was at around 60%, and I went in the shallow water for about 5 minutes. The device was just once fully submerged, for a very brief period of time (I was actually worried about getting it wet so I was paying attention) and mostly caught some splashes of water. When I came out of the water and tapped the screen to check the time, it didn’t light up. I tried waking the screen a few more times unsuccessfully. After that I dipped the device in a glass of tap water for a couple minutes and then let it dry. The next day I tried connecting it to the cable and to a portable charger. It vibrated a little but no Fitbit logo, just the black screen, no light. Tried the hard reset a few times but nothing happened. I stopped trying anything because the device got kinda hot. Is there anything else I should try? Does the warranty cover this kind of problem? I got it in January of 2022 so it should still be covered….

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @MelissaMont.
Thank you for sharing that you've been having this inconvenience with your Charge 5 after using the device to swim.
Since your device should be water resistant for up to 50 meters, I've gone ahead and sent your information to the Customer Support team for further assistance, and you should be getting a reply soon. In this case, they will let you know how to proceed.
See you around.
