Hey.
Since a couple of weeks, I noticed that my resting heart rate is a lot higher than normal. Normally I'm in between 54 and 61. Now I'm around 70. It never comes down and I don't feel sick nor do I experience troubles with working out. Today I noticed I gained 18 activity minutes just by going to the toilet and grabbing lunch in my house! How is that possible? I was never breathing faster nor feeling exhausted.
I really don't know what is going on. At first I though I was stressed but I really don't have any reasons to be stressed right now. I feel okay. I also noticed a couple of weeks ago that my charge 5 screen protector had some serious scratches. So maybe I damaged it?
I don't know what's going on but I'm so torn between going to the doctor and thinking this is a hardware issue. Is that even possible? I'm losing my mind because I have a heart disease but it was recently checked and all was okay! I've had such a good sleeping pattern for the last weeks, I'm working out without overdoing it (because you know, possible heart thingy) and I'm eating okay. Before all this, my heart rate was at its best point with around 54 bpm. What happened?!

Sorry that you haven't gotten a response yet.
Have you tried doing a manual heart rate check or check your heart rate using another device (like Polar heart monitor) and compare it to the value on your Fitbit? If not, I think that's a good place to start.
If your Fitbit is still showing a higher than average heart rate and you confirm that via a secondary check, it would probably be best to reach out to your doctor for advice. If you're able to send a message about your concern, your doctor can review the information and determine whether or not you should have an in-person visit.
