Have had the Charge 5 for a little over a year and it worked fine outside some crazy battery drain, but the one time I decided to track my swimming it dies not even 1 minute into swim. I've tried all the troubleshooting possible but the device is completely dead. Support is only offering a measly 35% off next purchase which is ridiculous considering I used this product for one of its intended purposes and it just dies after a single lap in a swimming pool. Has anyone been able to get one of these things working again after a swim or am I SOL?

Water ingress is hard to fix. Try putting it in dry rice for a couple of weeks until you are sure the battery is completely flat, and then recharge and see if you can get it to boot up. I got a dead screen working after water damage doing that, but when it came back it was stuck in the reboot cycle so in the end it wasn't a fix. Hope you have better luck than I did.

its bs the same thing just happened to me and they offered the same 35% to buy something it won't last past 1 year and 1/2? Let me know if you have better luck. Looking into the Garmin watches now.

OMG same here had it for just over 1yr 1/2 and usually not much swim activity but wanted to use it for swimming and it died. Blank black screen I thought it was flat. And now I've tried charging and rebooting and it just sits on the fit bit home screen thing. Will try leave in rice and see what happens. Really annoyed as I had a Gramin before this for just on the 2 years and it just died out of the blue too. So now I'm wondering what the life span of these watches really truely are?
