Live music affect heart rate readings

I recently attended a concert where I was directly in front of the main speaker with earplugs on of course. After the show I checked my Fitbit stats to see how many steps I had gotten and I was surprised to see that I had 10 minutes of peak and 15 minutes of cardio. I didn’t think I had exerted myself that much so my question is:  is there something about the frequency level of loud music that can affect the way heart rate readings show up on the device?  Interference from sound waves?

I had exactly the same issue last night at a 10cc concert - my heart rate was up at 140 plus according to my Versa 3, and being concerned I was frequently measuring it ‘manually’ and it was around 60 to 70. So I’d ask the same question, is this a known issue?

I attendee a rock concert yesterday and was directly in front of a speaker. My fit number registered 430! It showed my heart rate was above 148 for 5 hours! No way. I was just standing there. This thing has to be affected by sound waves or something!

I agree, it makes a mockery of the Active Zone minutes feature. When I reported this to Fitbit, the answer was that I must have been ‘moving in tune with the music’…! I can see why that might affect the step count, but why should it register a ridiculously high heart rate for hours on end? There’s a software issue there somewhere that Fitbit are keeping quiet!!
