Does anyone know of strap for the Charge 5 that is long enough to wear around one's upper arm?
(It doesn't have to fit massive bodybuilder biceps, just average adult male upper arms)
I would like to try wearing my Fitbit Charge 5 on my upper arm to see whether that increases the HR accuracy. I occasionally wear it together with a Polar H10 chest strap and the Charge 5 is substantially off a fair amount of the time; except during resting where it is relatively close, it is largely a rough estimate that can be substantially off. The Polar Verity Sense is an optical heart rate sensor like the Fitbit but apparently its accuracy is just about on par with the Polar H10 chest strap that actually measures heart rate precisely (electrically rather than optically). It is likely that a big part of the increased accuracy is because it is worn on the upper arm rather than the wrist where:
1. It is more still and secure than a wrist watch that moves around a lot, and
2. it has access to a much greater volume of soft tissue in which it can measure blood flow as opposed to the wrist which is relatively bony etc.
I expected that a simple search on google and/or amazon would yield plenty of options of upper arm straps for the charge 5 but I have searched extensively and not found a single option.

Look for strap extender on Amazon. Not exactly longer strap, but extender that connects to the ends of regular strap.
