Lost two hours trying to reset time on Charge 5

None - repeat none - of the tutorials for resetting time on  my Charge 5 are working. The time-out to zero battery is on me, but once it was restored, none of the 'fixes' will alter or change the time, running 1.5 hours ahead of local.

Forgive my venting, here but I have to say it: For as widely circulated as these are, the support is crap, the software is buggy, the UX is hard to use in practice when you truly ARE active and don't have time to stop to re-read the manual. Extremely disappointed with the Charge 5 (a replacement for an earlier model).  My wife stopped using hers a while ago, I kept feeling like "there's a pony in here somewhere" underneath all the tutorials that don't work.

Is this a time zone issue; i.e.  off by an exact number of hours?  If not, I don't know how there could be any tutorials for it.  The only way to reset the time or date is a successful sync.  At each (successful) sync, your fitbit device takes the date and time from your phone.  That is the only way to set the time.

Reset, resync, nothing.

Assuming it is not off by exact number of hours (which you didn't say),  in phone app Today screen, tap battery icon top left, then beside your tracker it will show last time sync was completed.
