Medium or larger small band needed for Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The large band is too big, giving me three inches of overlap and the small fits until my wrist starts to swell which frequently does so at night.  It gets so tight it cuts the circulation off.  If the small band was an inch longer it would be perfect.  The way the bands are right now just doesn't work.  I know in 2016 someone commented on it and it was set up for a vote, which I did, but it doesn't seem to have been revisited in the last seven years.  Is there any suggestions other than to switch bands every night?

Hi @Dawn2007  I've read on the forums about elastic stretchy bands, but can't recall which style Fitbit they were for. You might want to search on Amazon or Etsy and see who might have them to work with your Charge 5. It's possible having a stretchy band would work well enough that you wouldn't have to change bands.

Hello @Dawn2007

When I got my Charge 5 with the silicone sport bands, I had a similar problem trying to find the right place on the band so that my device was snug, but not too snug. I decided to get a metal mesh band that has a magnetic "clasp" from Amazon. One end has a strong magnet which easily attaches itself anywhere on the band. This makes it very easy to adjust the band to fit snugly on my wrist. The other option would be a velcro type band, which would also adjust easily to almost any wrist size. I went with the metal mesh since that looks a little nicer.

The main downside to the band with the magnetic clasp is sometimes the magnet will attach to other metal items, like tableware. Thankfully, for me, this is not a deal breaker.

Hi @Odyssey13, I looked into the stretchy type bands but decided against them because they are difficult to clean.  When dirt and sweat builds up it causes a rash around my wrist and I can't wear it for several days.  Otherwise, an elastic band would work well.

Hi @RiekoC, I have lost expensive watches with magnetic bands so I swore never to get a magnetic band again.  Velcro bands are not only, in my opinion, tacky looking, they are also difficult to clean.  Dirt and sweat build up causes a rash and I can't wear my tracker for a few days.  Good suggestions for someone else, though.

Sorry to hear about your past experiences with magnetic bands, @Dawn2007 . It makes total sense why you wouldn't trust magnetic bands.

The main issue that I read about the metal mesh band that I got was sometimes the connection tab to the Charge 5 would not stay latched. For what it's worth, I've seen posts about the same issue for the OEM Fitbit band. I've been using the metal mesh band for a year and haven't had any problems with the band staying attached to my Charge 5.

I agree with you about Velcro bands and don't care for them.
