'Mobile track' on app counting steps when phone is switched off.

Hi,

I'm using my mobile phone to track steps at work (We're not allowed to wear watches etc) and I've been using Mobile track on the Fitbit app. The problem is that it's counting steps even when I don't use my phone. I switch my phone off at night and when I turn it on in the morning the app says I've done thousands of steps already.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @SunsetRunner.

I appreciate all the information that you've shared about this inconvenience with MobileTrack.

My best recommendation would be to try removing it from your account and setting it up again:

  1. Go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account.
  2. Locate MobileTrack an tap on it.
  3. Select "Remove from this account"
  4. Force-quit the Fitbit app
  5. Open it again and tap on Account
  6. Select MobileTrack and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

Then, please monitor MobileTrack for the next few days, making sure to open the app and sync it at least once a day at the end of the day to check if the steps are being recorded properly and if it keeps tracking steps when the phone is off.

I'll be around.
