My Charge 5 battery won't stay charged

I charge my device to 100% and 12 hours later I receive a notice that I need to immediately recharge as it's down to 2%. This has happened several times in the past week.

It’s not just you. This happened to mine as well. Won’t stay charged for a day at this point and it’s less than a year old

It's not just you. I charge my device 100% and the battery drains in just 1 hour. This malfunction started  after firmware update 1.188.58 - I started wearing charge 5 eight months ago, too early for battery failure

How were you able to get ahold of Fitbit for a refund?

@AndreaFitbit

yes I have followed the advice in the article. My Fitbit battery still is only lasting less than 24 hrs.

I had this when I first got mine, went through all of the help / support from Fitbit and the device was faulty.  Charged it, dropped to 2% pretty much within an hour, charged and sent video, backwards & forwards with support many times, etc.  Eventually fitbit said I was charging from a 'non supported' power adapter (which is rubbish as have used fitbit for 7 years and never an issue).  Product returned / refunded with a new one purchased and working fine for the past year (with the same power adapter which I was told was not supported) 😉

Thanks for getting back to us and for following the advise in the article @Phdrunningchick .

Please restart your tracker:

  1. Swipe down from the clock screen to find the Settings app

    .
  2. Open the Settings app

    Restart Device

    >Restart.

If your device is unresponsive:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times within 8 seconds, holding each press for about 1 second.
  3. Wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

Note: If the device doesn’t restart, wait 15 seconds to try again.

Welcome aboard @davisonjames. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm glad to hear that your replacement device is working fine.

Have a nice day.

Took it back to the retailer who gave me a full refund also confirmed they had others back too for the same reason. 'Fit bit', 'not fit' for purpose.

You’d think they’d test these updates before sending them!
