My Charge 5 saying I was on an elliptical

Why is Charge 5 saying I speak time on an elliptical when I didn't. I did a fast walk today... that's it. It recorded it as I was on an elliptical. I just changed from my Charge 4 to Charge 5. I already am irritated because it doesn't record inclines.

I miss the stairs feature. I don't use machines for fitness

I don't either. I didn't use the elliptical. I walk and hike. I do weights for strength.

Hello @ValerieB

Did it auto-recognize it?  If you don’t want that to happen again, you can switch it off.

From the Today screen in the App on your phone, tap your profile picture then Activity and Wellness, then Exercise.  It will bring up a list of activities that your Charge 5 auto-recognizes.  You can tap on them to turn them On or Off and adjust the the time it takes to kick in.

Don’t forget to sync your Charge 5 so it knows for next time.

Also if the exercise recorded in your App as Elliptical and you want to change it, you can tap on that session, then the white arrow at the top right where it says Categorize Exercise, then enter the one you want to change it to in the search box and you can change it.

I hope that helps you a bit.

I played around on the fitbit.com and changed it. Thanks for the way to change it on the app (I didn't know about auto).
