My Fitbit Charge 5 would not charge anymore

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

Since I last updated my fitbit 5 to version 57.20001.194.91, the watch would not charge anymore, i leave it on the charger for the whole day, only to find it still stuck at 1%.

I tried resting, clearing the app cache, etc, but nothing fixes it.

I can still connect to the watch while its charging, is there anyway to rollback to the previous update?

Thanks.

Unfortunately there was nothing they could do, is there a way to downgrade the firmware to the previous one? it was working perfectly before updating.

I have the same issue. My Fitbit Charge 5 won’t charge up since yesterday when it was updated. Are there any fixes yet? As mine has now completely died and won’t charge at all.

Welcome to the Fitbit community forums, @amyzac.

Thank you for confirming that you're having the same inconvenience with the Charge 5.

Could you please provide a few more details about the issue? In the meantime, please make sure that you've followed the steps provided in this article. If the device is charging, but the screen is completely black, make sure that you've also completed the three pulse restart procedure described here

I am having the same issue.  I've had my Charge 5 for a year (Dec. 31,2023) and it was working perfectly until 2 weeks or so ago.  There was an update and then all of a sudden the battery started depleting rapidly within hours. It goes from 100% charge to 0% in only a few hours. The sensors have now stopped working as well.  Up until this time, one charge would typically last 4-6 days. Nothing happened to my device. I am very careful with it and have never had any issues. I do not wear it in the shower or swimming or expose it to extreme temperatures. I tried all of the 'fixes' including restarting it, un-pairing and re-pairing it. Force stopping the app and resyncing it. Uninstalling the app and reinstalling. Restarting the device again. I even performed a factory reset.  Nothing works.  It's basically useless. No heart rate monitoring, no step monitoring, and less than a day's worth of battery.  I contacted Customer Support who said it is 1 year old and out of warranty so it is now trash and I just need to buy a new one.  No explanation for the global issue that all Charge 5 users are having right now.  Just an offer to spend more money on a new device (that might spontaneously die after a year as well?)  This is my first FitBit and I can't say I am excited to run out and buy another one after this experience.  My mom bought this for me as a birthday gift in December 2023. She has been a loyal FitBit customer for years.  She has never had one fail or malfunction before and is disappointed to hear that this is happening.  Especially since it failed within a few days of the "1 year warranty".  Prior to this, I had zero issues with it.  It worked perfectly.  Great battery life (4-6 days).  Reliable step and heart rate tracking.  Notifications from all my apps.  Now it's a glorified watch that dies within a day.  What a waste.  I just want my FitBit to work again.  I don't want to pay for a new one when this one was perfectly good!
