I hope this post will help someone else in their decision to get a Fitbit watch. I have owned a Fitbit for the past 5-6 years and had 3 major issues. My first verse 2 and verse 3 both stopped working after I took a shower. Both boast to be waterproof to swim and shower and that was not the case. I reached out to customer service and they were super helpful and sent a replacement watch. My most recent interaction with Fitbit support today gave me a completely different vibe. I was told that they can only offer a 30% off discount. So the fact that water caused my watch to stop working (even though it is waterproof) and I was not offered to fix it or send a refurbished one, just we will give you 30% off your next watch… no thank you, I will be switching to garmin now.

I’m saying if I bought a watch that says it was water resistant and I took a shower, I would expect the watch to still work. Which it does not

Hi @Bdunbar89 actually water resistant is what the Fitbit devices are - not waterproof. My friends who left for other devices have returned to Fitbit, most missing the app and the community.

@Bdunbar89 water resistant is one thing and being able to handle soap, shampoo and conditioner is a whole other thing. I take my device off the wrist and put it on the charger while showering, so it's not something that happened to me.
