My phone started tracking my husband's Charge 5 instead of mine

My Charge 5 Fitbit has been syncing to my cellophone for over a year.  Two days ago my cellphone started tracking my husband's Charge 5 Fitbit instead of mine.  My Charge 5 is still tracking data.  Both phones are Androids.

Hello @Canna34

It's strange that your husband's Fitbit is syncing with your phone and yours isn't. Was your husband's Charge 5 connected to the Fitbit app on your phone previously?

Have you tried removing your husband's Charge 5 from your Fitbit app, then adding your Charge 5 back to your Fitbit app?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Canna34. I'm sorry to hear that your phone started tracking your husband's Charge 5 instead of yours and will be happy to assist.

Please log out of the Fitbit App on your phone and log back in with your email address and information.

Thank you for your assistance and advise @RiekoC.

My husband deleted both his and mine from my Fitbit.  He then located his cellphone outside in the covered bed of his truck.  He then tried to pair to Fitbit my phone.  His Fitbit still was paired to my phone.  Do I need to complete uninstall the Fitbit application from my phone.  Then reload it to my cellphone and then try to pair my Fitbit with my husband's cellphone and Fitbit significantly further from my cellphone.  Looking forward to your thoughts.  Canne34

Hello @Canna34

Thanks for the additional details.

I'm a little confused about what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to connect your Charge 5 back to your Fitbit app? If this is the case, here's what I recommend.

  • Tap the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app to open the Connected to Fitbit page
  • Tap on the Charge 5 tile under Devices. This is your husband's Charge 5.
  • Swipe up and tap Disconnect Device. Follow the prompts to remove your husband's Charge 5.
  • Move your husband's Charge 5 out of Bluetooth range (~30 feet) so that your phone won't see it
  • Tap Add more devices on the Connected to Fitbit page on your phone.
  • Scroll to find Charge 5. Make sure your Charge 5 is near your phone. Follow the prompts to set up your Charge 5.

This process will remove your husband's Charge 5 from the Fitbit app on your phone so you can add your Charge 5 back to your Fitbit app.

Now, your husband should be able to add his Charge 5 to the Fitbit app on his phone. When he is ready to do this, I recommend that your Charge 5 is out of Bluetooth range so that his phone doesn't see your Charge 5.

Please let us know if these instructions helped you get your Charge 5 back on your Fitbit app.

Thanks for getting back to us and for the description of what you're trying to accomplish @Canna34. I'll be glad to share my thoughts with you.

The steps that @RiekoC, sent you are basically the instructions that I would follow in order to get both Fitbits on the correct devices.

I hope they help you out. Have a nice day!
