No Sleep score Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Got the new charge 5 in hopes it would finally do my sleep score right. I loved my charge 4 other than the sleep score will work 1 night and then not for a week. I'm having the same issue already with the 5.

😑Only since I changed to Charge 5 have I had this issue. I've never manually started/ended sleep.

The band tracks my (poor) sleep -- I get zones and durations >2 hours, but no sleep score for that night. I just changed to "sensitive" sleep tracking, so we'll see if that helps.

I have tried to not put watch in sleep mode. No sleep score. Arter i put it in sleep mode every night(no schedule) i have had sleep score for 7 nights. This works for me.

@Merete67norway sleep mode simply turns off all notifications except the alarm clock. It has nothing to do with sleep recording.

For a score you need a consistant heart rate reading.  .

Watch did not registrate sleep score if i did not put in sleep mode. Have always got spo2 and stress management also by doing it this way. No probs with heart rate either. Will try to not put it in sleep mode tonight and see how it goes.

I too have the same problem, and have tried all the suggestions I've found on the net:

1) restart the device

2) delete the most recent sleep record and key the period manually (start and end time)

3) cleared app cache (Android)

4) force stopped app

5) deleted all local data

6) reinstalled app

...still nothing.

The one thing I've noticed is that I haven't had a sleep score since the most recent app update on 30 September 2021.

Had the same issue with 2 of my previous Charge 4, and returned them both. I got the third one, and same thing.

So i swaped with a friend, that had no problems with his. Well, that did not worked with me either while mine worked

with him.. So the problem was me! I did not have a quality sleep. Just so it happened that i started using a CPAP

machine, and the tracker started registering my sleep. Just thought i share this with you. If you know someone, try

changing and see the results. Good luck.

I have a brand new Charge 5. I can not get it to show any sleep data. I’ve already done the app restart/ login, remove/reinstall, sync. Nothing works.

no data. Please advise.

@Merete67norway Thank you for your reply and confirming that you were able to get a Sleep Score when putting the device in Sleep Mode. This feature prevents the device from vibrating and receiving any notifications. When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist. To wake Charge 5, firmly tap the screen twice.

Let me know if you continue to experience the same problem when you don't put the Charge in Sleep Mode. Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages to see sleep score. You can find other important details in this article

Have a good day.

I posted a few replies in other threads, but I'm not sure I've seen anyone else with my exact issue.

Since I got my Charge 5 last week, I've gotten a sleep score on the main/start page of the app most nights, but when I tap the sleep metrics on from there (main page), there's no sleep entry on the actual sleep page (see screenshots).

The sleep time itself is logged and I can see it on the web dashboard. Sooo... what the heck?!

Hi @icantremember why not post your screen shots directly?

Also your second screen shot does show sleep scores. I circled them.

Now tap on the shorter periods and read the message under the graph.

Sorry, didn't know I could post images... but I see the option now.

The first screenshot (main page) is from last night (Tues or Weds, I forget how it shows) but it doesn't show on the Sleep page -- the 5 hours 50 mins with score of 57 is nowhere to be seen. Each empty night on the Sleep page should have a score matching what I'd seen on the main page for that day.

Hi, thank you to everyone for taking the time to share all this information about what you've been experiencing with the Charge 5.

I think the majority of users are not receiving Sleep Score and some users also mentioned not receiving regular sleep data at all as well. If you're not getting Sleep Score, keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see a sleep score. There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you see sleep stages but don’t see a sleep score, please note that it may take a few minutes for your sleep score to appear, as some of you have mentioned earlier. In addition, for better results please try to let the device detect that you're awake or asleep by itself rather than doing it manually and make sure to keep the Fitbit app and the devices' firmware updated to the latest version available.

The Charge 5 may need some days to collect some information (particularly regarding to heart rate) and provide sleep score, sleep stages and other data, but you should receive all the basic sleep information. Make sure that you've also tried the restart procedure described here and check if you continue to experience the same problem.

In case the problem is related to the Fitbit app, please try the following as well:

  • Log out from the app.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies for the Fitbit app in your phone's settings.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Log back in to check if you're able to see your data properly.
  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app if you're still having trouble.

It seems that many of you have already contacted Support about this. If you already tried all these troubleshooting steps and you're still not seeing sleep related information in the app, I recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance. The best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. I'll be around.

On the sleep page, I see two sleep periods. 5:54 & 1:48

The second sleep has a score while the first does not since it is less than 3 hours

On the dashboard the two sleep periods are combined for a 5:50

Fitbit averages the Sleep Score on the dashboard, so yes it probably will not match the score for any individual sleep.

IE here is one of mine.

I appreciate the help, Community Legend, but the main page with the 5:50 and 57 in my screenshot are not from Sunday, they're from last night. Each night that is not represented on the Sleep page graph actually had a sleep score on the main page the day after I slept. That's my issue.

It seems you're just trying to discount my problem instead of reading my post. It's confusing because the Android fitbit app doesn't put the date on the main page, but the issue is real. I've had various fitbit devices and this is the first one exhibiting this behavior.
