Not tracking run distance or logged activity

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello

My Charge 5 stopped logging accurate run distances months ago. I tried numerous fixes but nothing worked. Now I use Mapmy run instead which is pretty annoying but at least it’s accurate. However, to add to this, in the last week my Fitbit has stopped logging tracked activity. I start logging my workouts via the shortcuts on the charge 5 and all appears to track ok but it won’t sync with the app. I’ve tried various fixes but I’m not getting anywhere. The device is now pretty useless. Anyone had similar issues or have any suggestions?

@ruffianfan Agreed! 3 weeks now can't enter new exercise & historical exercise gone. Not a "fitness tracker"!! No comment, care or commitment to solve from Fitbit. Beyond disappointing!

Yeah, my fitbit broke and got a replacement. Just synced it and half my exercise days from this year have gone. I just watched them disappear! I had a goal for this year and this is the way I was tracking it. So frustrating....

Even I can't log it manually.

Hi,

So I called Fitbit support earlier today, as I'm still have the same issues with the app not tracking any of my exercise days or information related to those exercises.  They basically asked what I had already done to try to fix the issue (I have done everything they suggested several times).  I told them that it seemed like a lot of other people were having issues as well.  And, she replied, they are, and they are aware of multiple issues currently plaguing the app, and they are working on a fix.  So, all I was basically instructed to do was to be patient until the Fitbit team can fix the issues, and to check often to see if there is an update available for the app (the "fix" will come in the form of an app update).  And that was it.  No compensation for my lost tacking time, no compensation for my premium subscription - I won't be renewing anyway - nothing really, other than a hang tight and be patient.  Google and Fitbit can and need to do much better.  What a waste of money.

Hi Ski33, all. I also did the long wait & spoke to Fitbit last night. All fixed by last update apparently! No! I have updated daily since this issue. Couldn’t (wouldn’t?) help me further unless I moved to Google. I moved now (hadn’t wanted to) & all still useless & no further help forthcoming.  Unfitgooglebit!! Can’t take anymore of this. Loss of all data and no new tracking so demoralising!! Going to have to go shopping for alternative for my wellbeing!! Good luck!

Mine now seems to be recognising walks and logging those, I haven't tried logging a workout for a while as I'm on holiday.

For info my app last updated on 11 Sept and I've had my Fitbit and Google account linked for months before this problem started.

Hello @Pinkluce

Thank you for your update. I'm glad to see that your Charge 5 is finally recognizing and tracking your walks. That's so encouraging.

I saw that one of issues that might have been a factor to the exercise syncing problem was recently fixed. However, I'm not sure that all the issues have been resolved yet. Even if all the problems have been fixed, it could still take some time for all our data to show up in the app.

The fix can's come soon enough for all of us.

Oooo! I hope this isn’t transient or I jinx it by saying….but my data seems to be back! Bike rides + map + miles & swims. Delighted, relieved, hope same or soon for others? I Will look nervously tomorrow am to see if still there….

Hello all,

There is an update for the Android Fitbit app, ver 4.26.1, that started rolling out today, 25 Sep 2024. I got the update this morning.

The app updates tend to rollout in waves. If you don't see the update right away, keep checking.

So far, I haven't seen any posts about an update for iOS Fitbit app. I suspect one should be rolling out soon, if not at the same time as the Android app.

Thanks for the update, I've been away on holiday so only auto logging walks, not Workouts, but should be able to try it this weekend

My Charge 2 is now letting me manually record walks and it is showing them properly on the app, but not my tennis or other activities. Could I know the reason?

Been back home nearly a week now and successfully tracked and synced workouts Sun, Tue and Wed and bike on Weds. But today have tracked a workout and bike and neither have synced, so not sure fix is ok

Hello @Pinkluce & @Anirudthiru

From the user reports that I'm seeing, it looks like the issue isn't completely fixed. I've seen a few Moderator posts after the latest app update has rolled out (ver 4.26.1) acknowledging the issue and that the team is working on the fix.

The fact that you've seen some activities sync is encouraging to me and indicates that the team is closer to getting the problem fixed.

I'll keep monitoring and will report back if I learn of any further updates.

Edited to add: I just a Moderator response from yesterday (02 Oct 2024) stating that there will be another app update rolling out in a few days. I really hope the update will finally fix the exercise data syncing issue. Please keep checking your app store for the update.

Mine will only add an activity that I record if it’s the first of the day.
If it has already logged a walk (recognized automatically) it will show
the added activity briefly, but it disappears as soon as it updates. I
have an IPhone that has the latest version of IOS if that makes a
difference. So annoying, I usually lift weights and add that activity, but
no longer can.

Thanks. After I posted yesterday I checked my app and it hasn't updated since 19 September, so fingers crossed the next one will fix it.

Mine worked OK for a few days after the last Fitbit app update, but no longer.  Will not save anything that I add or track on my phone manually.  Only tracks walks that it detects automatically, nothing else.  When I add activities they vanish as soon as it syncs. Really frustrating! annoying!! etc
