Notifications are not coming through my Charge 5

I just got my Charge 5 and it will not send my phone notifications (call and messages) to my Fitbit.  I've checked all the topics in Help but it still doesn't work.  Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a fix.

Hi there, @nancybr1. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out.

In addition to the steps you've done, please try the following:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Charge 5.
  • Set up notifications again.
  • Once your Charge 5 is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

I have the same issue. My Charge 5 worked perfectly with my Samsung phone but I have changed to an iPhone 14 Pro and the FB receives no notifications at all from the app or from the phone for Messages or calls.

I have read loads of tips from FB, Apple and other sources, including those in this thread, and simply cannot make notifications work on my Charge 5.

Any other ideas please or is this part of a Google/Apple incompatibility issue?

Hello, I am having the same issue. I have turned off the phone three times, reset the fitbit watch 3 times, turned off the bluetooth and share data three times and still not connecting the text messages, will connect to missed phone calls, and calendar events, FITBIT Is updates, IPHONE updated and not sure what else is causing the misnomer step to recieving text messages on the phone. AT this point and time< I might take the watch back and upgrade to apple watch at this point. It has been nothing but trouble with trouble for apple and fitbit.

Funnily enough, I got the reminder to move notification soon after posting my earlier message. That is the very first since I swapped to the iPhone last week. I’m convinced there's some anomaly in the software between IOS/Android but no way am I buying an Apple Watch and my phone is brand new so, if pushed, I’ll bin the Charge 5 and try a cheapie version.

Well, I think it’s now working thanks to the tips from Marre above.

I didn’t follow all of them but started by disconnecting the FB and my hearing aids from Bluetooth. I deleted the app and turned off the phone then restarted the phone and reinstalled the app. I connected my FB to Bluetooth and then reconnected my hearing aids. I now seem to be getting the FB notifications as well as my phone notifications.

I'm turning off the various settings the spurious advice across the internet suggested I turn on.

Thank you.

Hi! I am having the same issues. I have tried all of the steps you listed above and still no luck.

My fitbit is also not tracking my sleep. It said I got 40 minutes of sleep last night.

As a follow up, tonight I updated my phone to ios16.4 and lost the Bluetooth connection to my Charge 5. I’ll sort it out again tomorrow, hopefully. 🙄
