I must say this watch leaves much to be desired. I loved the Fitbit 2. Was great for messages which is one reason I have a smart watch. Spent another hour trying to get messages tonight. Horrible. Have had for 6 months. Still doesn’t work. Bin job I’m thinking.  Have gone through every step in forums. So sad I wasted my money.

I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 is still not receiving notifications. I understand how annoying this can be, I will do my best to help you with this!
As a first approach, I'd recommend checking whether your Charge 5 is in sleep mode. When sleep mode is on:
