Will the new Charge 5 have the option to turn the Bluetooth off? I don't like the idea of having a device on me 24/7 transmitting radiation. Low radiation it may be but still radiation

Hi @Mike-10 more than likely, it will be like the rest of the Fitbit devices and we can't turn off bluetooth. Do you keep bluetooth on your phone all the time? When the Fitbit has activity to upload to the servers, usually every twenty minutes or so, it will automatically reach out to sync via bluetooth. It will keep searching unless you turn bluetooth off on your phone. I would think by that action alone it would reduce the EMF you're exposed to. However, what about all the other EMF we're exposed to on a daily basis? Computers, tablets, cellphones. wireless routers, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner and the list is much longer than I'm putting here. There's nothing wrong with concern over low radiation, but our homes have so many electric appliances with higher EMF readings than the Fitbit.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately we are exposed to EMF everyday. I only have my phone bluetooth on when I need it, as you say if the fitbit emits less EMF when not connected than that's not so bad. Thanks again

Your fitbit tracker is only listening until requested.
This request may come from the phone, to sync, or the tracker itself, examples are the weather app and connected gps.
The tracker itself. Even with BT off will be releasing EMF.

Uggh, I need to be able to turn bluetooth off at work because of sensitive equipment. We have to disable on phones when we enter production equipment, so I have to leave my fitbit on my desk 😞
