Order or pre-order Charge 5 in China

It's been a while since I purchased a new Fitbit, I'm still on the charge 2 and well overdue a replacement. I was holding out for some better healthy tracking and the charge 5 seems to tick all the boxes. I purchased the charge 2 directly from Fitbit (your taobao store) but now I'm trying to pre-order the 5, I dont see any official place to buy it from. Even your website seems to have removed China as one of its locations. So the question is ...... How does someone living in China order a Charge 5 ? (considering travel, even going to HK, is currently not an option)

It’s good to see you in the community, @shimsim.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and your interest in Fitbit Charge 5. I understand your concern and would like to advise that at this time there isn't a fitbit.com store available in China. I was able to see that you have already contacted our Support team regarding this and that they were able to assist you. Thank you for your time and efforts.

You can find more information about Fitbit purchases and shipping in this help articleFind additional information about the Charge 5 in our store and press release.

Thanks for the additional reply, as you mentioned, I did in fact also contact support but the answer was somewhat ambiguous and was basically that I should wait a week or two and see if China is added as a purchase location.

Considering China vanished some while back, I was hoping to get something a bit more definitive as I am concerned that Fitbit dont have much interest in catering to the market here in which case I would rather know sooner so that I can try to get hold of one through other means.

p.s. I had a look at the links, but they are all US centric and dont provide any additional useful information, at least in my situation.

If there is any concrete information on potential availability in China, I would appreciate it being shared as it would benefit me or anyone else living here. There happens to be a fairly large community of ex-pats that heavily rely on foreign tech that are unable to travel (at least in the foreseeable short term) to make purchases aboard.

Cheers

Thanks, although this is extremely disappointing, at least I know where I stand now. This is at least accurate rather than the wait and see reply from support. I had assumed this was because of the Google acquisition, another great product/service no longer available in this country 😞
