I am able to pair and sync my Charge 5 however after the recent android OS and FitBit updates, I began seeing the message "To sync reliably, let Fitbit link to Zip", "in order to improve your Fitbit experience you will need to Bluetooth Pair and Link your tracker with the Fitbit application" every time I opened the app..
Even though it is paired and it syncs in the usual way, in an attempt to rid the Fitbit app of this message, I nevertheless went through the troubleshooting help page (Why won't my Fitbit device sync?) and followed all the instructions to unpair, turn off etc etc. I did this twice however the message returned.
I then uninstalled the Fitbit App, restarted the phone, made sure I had sufficient space and reinstalled the FitBit app - my device automatically paired in the background so when I opened the FiitBit app my device was already paired. I checked the settings on the App and sure enough the device is paired and works just fine but the nuisance message is still there! Any ideas? Any info would be appreciated I'm clearly missing something.
UPDATE: I off-loaded the Fitbit App once again, cleared caches and did a general tidy-up then I turned off my phone overnight. Next day I restarted my phone, reloaded the Fitbit App and message was gone - thank to the folks that responded.

Hello @MGM20! Welcome to our community forums!
Thank you for letting us know that your app is showing a message related to linking your Zip to the app. I appreciate all the steps you tried before contacting.
Please go to settings on your mobile and look for the applications section, once there you have to select Fitbit and clear the app cache, go to your Fitbit app and try to sync. If the issue persists please attach a picture of the message.

Hi,
I have been suffering the same issue for a week.
I solved it by uninstalling the fitbit app and installing again. Maybe the suggestion of clearing cache will work too, but uninstalling full app worked for me
