Hello Fitbit community!

After using apple watch for years, I moved to Fitbit based on the immense recommendation that I found on the internet.

I did the setup yesterday and went to sleep, and when I woke up I found that I burned 800 calories! which's something unbelievable! When i was using apple watch my target was 700 cal a day! but now with this watch and without going to the gym yet, It claimes that i burned 800!

please help me here, is it an accuracy issue?

It's not that easy to say how your calories burned total is split between BMR and active calories. Given that the BMR calories are burned at a constant rate, you could look at the calories burned at a time when you were asleep - these calories will be just BMR calories. So, if you burn calories at, say, 1 calorie per minute when asleep then this would add up to 1440 calories over the 24 hour period. You would then need to subtract the calculated BMR calories from the total to get the active calories.

As well as tracking calories burned through activity your fitbit also tracks your BMR calories. These are the calories you burn just keeping your body alive (even when asleep). They are calculated from your profile settings for age, height, weight etc so you needn't be wearing your fitbit to get them. What you are seeing includes the total BMR calories burned since midnight. It sounds like your apple watch does not include the BMR calories in its count.

Having said that, 800 is still quite high so it's worth checking your profile settings for age, height, weight etc just in case.

Hi Steve,
Thank you so much for your reply. I took your advice and checked out my information to find out that my age was wrong, so thanks again.
However, still, nothing changed and the calories are still high.

I would like to ask you, how can I tell the active calories from the resting calories?
