Pulling the plug

After 4 Fitbit bands and 8 years of being a faithful customer I am finally pulling the plug on the Fitbit community.  I have experienced the dreaded battery drain and have tried all the fixes and none of them have worked.  I don't know if Fitbit is using planned obsolescence or they don't have a clue on how to fix the problem with the battery drainage, but either way nothing has fixed the problem as can be seen by the 84+ pages of discussion/complaints on this very topic.  I am going to Garmin and will try their fitness bands as they seem to be highly rated. I liked the Fitbit exercise bands when they worked but therein lies the problem,!!

My Charge 5 died completely on July 6, I have been trying to get answers / solutions / replacement since then. I have tried all the recommended fixes, nothing works. My unit was 16 months old, it should not have expired, just like so many others on this forum. Fitbit / Google stand up and take responsibility for the damages you have caused. Replace at no cost to your loyal customers, all the non functioning Charge 5 trackers. Show that you are a reputable company.

Yup — another one here — went through a lot of trouble shooting — guess I too will give up on Fitbit…

Mine was 18 months old.  They know something is wrong and won't fix it.  I guess they are showing they are not a reputable company!!

Nope. They have shown their true colors. I ordered a Garmin. Interesting thing is that I had to order it rather than buy it in the stores...they are all sold out in the stores I found, plenty of fitbits to be bought but Garmins are scarce. I think the news is out that Fitbit / Google has a problem.

Yep — I am just gonna revert back to a plain old watch for a while — these things cost too durn much to watch them break…

Same! I’ve had Fitbit Charges back to the 2, but I got a garmin last week. If Fitbit would have acknowledged there was an issue they caused, maybe I would have waited but instead…. Goodbye Fitbit.

What caused them to recall and replace all Ionics? Can the same process be gone down with Charge 5's being bricked by their own updates?

When my ionic died I just stopped using Fitbit as I took the huff after the 35% off offer so when the recall eventually came it was still on my account and I got the Charge 5 with the refund. This Charge 5 has now bricked so that a 2/2 fail rate for Fitbit.

I just received my Charge 5 after my trusty 4 finally began to peter out.  Dang, wish I had read this board before buying it.  Sounds pretty grim. 😞

My 3rd Charge 5 and I no longer receive notifications and it stopped syncing. Going to Apple.

Honestly only got mine yesterday and I’m already regretting it.

I had x2 charge HR back in the day, both died, button fell off one and the band connections broke, in less than a year, swapped to a Pebble which honestly worked so much better (until Fitbit bought out the technology and support was stopped)

Haven’t used anything for the last few years, but I’m wishing I’d just got an Apple Watch tbh.

Battery is 50% already, not on latest firmware and it doesn’t show up at all, can’t change to UK date format, can’t use it to pay, as no supported banks.

but my heart rate is marvellous apparently lol!!

Same here.  I've had a few.  I've invested in the company.  I've been left frustrated and disappointed with their customer support and reaction to what is very obviously a known and common issue.  I had a post removed for mentioning something should be done (in so many words).   I can no longer support this company.

I bought an Amazfit 7 from Amazon. Does everything the charge 5 does and was 40 bucks!!!  So far so good!
