Hi @PatA72 how do you want record your bike ride? Do you depend on the auto detect, or manually start the exercise?
When it comes to a stationary (spinning) bike, since the user is not physically moving across the floor, no distance will be recorded.
I've also moved your post to its own thread.

Hello @PatA72
Yes, there are ways to do it. I choose Weights as an Exercise Shortcut on my Charge 5 then rename it later.
To set up an Exercise Shortcut, from the Today Screen in the App on your phone, tap your profile picture then Charge 5. Select Exercise Shortcuts. Choose one you don’t use by swiping left to delete it and then scroll down to +Exercise Shortcuts and choose one to add. Then sync your Charge 5 and it should show up on your tracker.
I just noticed both Spinning and Bike are Shortcut options, maybe you should add them as well as Weights. For other things the generic Workout is a good choice as you can rename it later.
You can Start and Stop the Exercise from your Charge 5 and also by swiping up from the Start button, change the settings. For Pump I’ve set up Always On Display, just for that hour, because I’m curious to see my heart rate etc.
When you’ve finished and synced to your phone, you can change the name by tapping the arrow on the top right by Categorize Exercise and select the Exercise name you want by entering it in the Search Box. Select and that’s it.
I also do Attack and Combat and let my Charge 5 track them automatically. I go in afterwards and rename them and slightly edit the start and end times by tapping the 3 dots in the top right of the exercise record and choosing Edit Record.
It works really well for me!
I hope that helps a bit.
