Recent deterioration in battery performance

I bought my Charge 5 on 2 October 2021. It replaced a Charge 4 on which the band had broken more than once.

Until past past few days I've had it on a 4 to 5 day battery charging cycle but the past couple of days it has struggled to last 24 hours without charging. I've not changed anything about its settings or how I use it.

Are others experiencing similar problems? Does anybody have a suggested fix?

Hi @palbion - I’ve found that the best first step for this issue is a reset. Tap here for instructions. Try doing it a couple times. Please let us know if this resolves the issue. It works for me.

I did reset it yesterday afternoon before charging. It looks like that may have worked but I can't be sure for a day or two.

I'm experiencing the same thing; I've reset my device twice this week alone. Last night, I went to sleep with 76% battery, and it was dead on my arm by morning. Getting really frustrated as I haven't changed any settings recently to explain this rapid battery decline

I have not been able to figure out how to reset my fitbit 5. How did you do that or where did you find the instruction on how to do this? I have it plugged into the computer now and nothing is happening

Try https://help.fitbit.com/manuals/charge_5/Content/manuals/html/Update,%20Restart,%20and%20Erase.htm

The app on my iPhone had a message this morning about an update and I've just applied that. That will have done a restart and may include other fixes. You might see if the update is available for yours.

This just happen to me in the last 3 days. Normally lasts 7 days. Now down to 2.5. What is wrong with these guys?

Mine never extended to 7 days, even when new, but it did stretch to 5 days until May. Restart/reset worked. I'm hoping the update I applied this morning might include a fix.

@SunsetRunner :There is NO WAY that this is the best Answer to the very rapid, battery drain problem that @palibon has been having since before June 1 through the person's last post just 5 hours ago.

Yet on June 1, you edited  his Post to redirect the Community to yours, which is incorrectly marked as the  "Answer" !  WTF?     C5 owners are still experiencing the exact same problem as @palbion , myself and uncountable other C5 owners are having.

If I am in some way mistaken about this, please let me know what exactly my misunderstanding is and I will apologize profusely.

Otherwise, please Post what the exact status of this issue is, as of right now, and tell us exactly what is being done about it or else describe exactly what, if anything, we can do to fix the problem.  If we can't make it go away, then tell us exactly what you are doing to make it go away and when.

Myself and so many others, dating back to *last Oct * I can see in this topic, have wasted way too much of our time floundering helplessly or waiting for the new firmware, just released last week or, which did not fix the battery drain issue but did create new, different issues for many.

As for me, I have a new Garmin loaded into an online Shopping Cart of mine. If I don't get a reasonable, authoritative, clear, accurate,  and helpful response from Fitbit soon, I am just going to have to punch the CheckOut button in that Cart. Is the Customer Service & Technical Support for this product some kind of "Clown Car"?
