I started a bike ride and when done I touched Pause then Finish. The button presses seemed to work like you'd expect them to but no mileage was recorded. Anyone record a bike ride yet?

I have a regular 8 mile bike route I take. I compared a ride from Thursday with my Charge 2 (phone/connected GPS) and a ride Saturday (Charge 5, on device GPS) and both Ave. HR and Mileage were virtually the same.

Hello @SunsetRunner and welcome to the Help forum. To clarify things, did you get a record of your exercise in the Exercise tile on your phone app? If you are wondering why your bike ride distance wasn't added to your distance total for the day, let me explain. Fitbit only count step based, one foot in front of the other activities to your daily and lifetime distance. These totals are the basis for your daily and lifetime badges. Riding a bike, swimming, kayaking, etc., don't count.

The bike ride never recorded even though the button presses appeared that it had. I did a run tonight and it did record so maybe I didn't save the bike ride, even though I pressed Finished. I'll try again later this week.

This also happen to me, my first ride did not record. I think it was because I had my phone in my bike backpack, and the fitbit was attached to the phone for GPS. Since the phone did not have a line of site to the sky the GPS did not work. The next ride I did I put the phone on my bike holder and it worked fine. Depending on how you have your phone set up it will may use the GPS on the fitbit on the GPS on your phone.

I'll have to try again. A run did record.
Interestingly, I did not start a bike ride yesterday but it recorded a ride through it's smart function. The mileage was 12.28 miles and my Garmin recorded 12.48. HA! Pretty accurate, although it was tied to my cell phone for Dynamic gps. I'll try it with onboard gps only and see who that fairs. I suppose it will be way off.
