Red circle with a white X

This morning my Charge 5 showed a SP02 reading but the new Android app did not.  I created a topic about that in the Android app forum.

Then about an hour ago noticed that the Charge 5 screen showed a red circle with a white X in it (photo below).  I searched the Charge 5 forum and found instructions to fix that (screenshot below).

I've followed the instructions all the way to needing to reset the Charge 5 but the online Charge 5 manual says that requires pressing and holding a button on the charger (screenshot below)  However, there is no such button on my Fitbit Charge 5 charger.

Suggestions?

I found a different restart instruction and graphic (below) and was able to restart.  I briefly saw a "normal" device screen showing 90% battery, then the device screen switched to a screen saying "check charger", "not charging" and showing a time that is roughly an hour off current time.
