Replaced Charge 4 with Charge 5: Calories Burned During Exercise Far Lower

Hi there. I recently replaced my Charge 4 with a Charge 5 because the battery on the 4 had started to die.

Yesterday I did my first workout on the Charge 5 and saw the Exercise Calories burned was almost HALF of the calories burned on my typical workout on the Charge 4, for the same amount of time.

See this comparison:

Charge 4: Here is my calories burned (1,103) from my workout this past Tuesday, with 1 hour 44 minutes in my exercise zones, and 49 of those minutes in Cardio:

Charge 5: Here is my calories burned (770) from my workout yesterday, with the Charge 5, with 1 hour 45 minutes in my exercise zones, and 61 minutes in Cardio (even more!):

Now, I checked my personal settings and yes, they are set correctly:

Can you please help? How do I get the Charge 5 to begin tracking the calories correctly? These are clearly way too low but this is the only reason I use a Fitbit. Thank you!

Glad that fixed it.  Don't quite follow why but as long as it worked, great!  Maybe swimming thinks it's not supposed to get a heart rate so ignore that, just wild guess.

P.S. If you don't swim, you can prevent that getting auto-recognized as such.  From phone app Today screen,

days of exercise tile > gear icon (near top right) (shows auto-recognized exercises) - tap any you don't want and turn off "auto-recognize"

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

To me, it would be easier to analyze with screen caps of just your workout summaries, rather than full day.

Hi there. Those screen caps show the workout summaries.

The top half of the screencaps show the full day, but under "Excercise Zones" in each photo it shows just the time and calories of the workout period or periods if there's more than one.

Edit: Hahaha okay okay the Charge 5 was categorizing the 30-minute intense stairclimber workouts I was doing as "swimming". Relabelled these and numbers look normal again.

Thanks for the assist!
