Resting Heart Rate at night required to get data the next day?

I have a Charge 5.  I have noticed that if I dont get a resting heart rate overnight, I dont get ANY hear rate data the next day.  This raises TWO questions.

1. Why is Resting heart rate only collected while sleeping

2. Why is does it's absence keep me from recording data all day??

You are going on a basic assumption that resting heart rate is "collected" only overnight. I question, and disagree with, your basic assumption.

It sounds like you might be encountering some issue preventing recording heart rate.  If it cannot record heart rate, of course it cannot get resting heart rate.  Check in your Setting if you have turned off Heart Rate.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Whenever resting heart rate is collected, (or is not collected) should not keep me from collecting heart rate data ALL DAY.  Any morning that I do nt see a Resting Heat rate number, there is not HR data for the whole day! This makes NO SENSE.  This seems to be a bug. When will it be corrected?
