Screen wake feature is not working on my Charge 5

I got my Charge 5 for Christmas abd just recently the screen isn’t displaying anything when I flip my wrist to see the time.  Any suggestions?

Hi there, @Halliejd. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5.

As a first approach, please go to your quick settings and check that screen wake hasn't accidentally been turned off. Swipe down from the clock face on your watch to access the quick settings. Change whether the screen turns on when you turn your wrist.

If this settings is set correctly, please try restarting your Charge 5 by following these steps How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the above doesn't work, please check if your Charge 5 is in sleep mode. When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders to move are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The Always-On Display clock face is turned off.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in the quick settings.

To turn off Sleep Mode, please swipe right from the clock face on your watch to access the quick settings. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?
