Is it possible to send a message to my FitBit Charge 5, via my PC/Phone (companion?) Instead of receiving it from another user, receive it from my PC.

Hi @Virtue55

It sounds like you're looking to add notifications for other apps, although I'm not sure what you mean by "your own apps". Your Charge 5 can be configured to receive notifications from quite a number of compatible apps that are on your phone/tablet.

To configure your Charge 5 to receive additional app notifications:

  • Open the Fitbit app on your phone/tablet and tap on your picture/icon in the upper left to open the Account page
  • Tap on the Charge 5 tile to open the Charge 5 page
  • Under "General", tap on Notifications
  • On this page, you can set up the notifications for calls, text messages, calendar events and emails. Tap on each one to select the correct app, if it's not already selected
  • Below Emails, you'll see App Notifications. Tap on this to open an alphabetical list of the compatible apps that are on your phone/tablet. Swipe up to see the entire list. Tap on the square to the right of the desired app to select. Select all the apps for which you want to get notifications on your Charge 5, then tap on the arrow in the upper left to close the page
  • Keep tapping on the arrows in the upper left to return back to the Today page.
  • Although I don't think it's necessary to do, it's probably good to sync the app with your Charge 5 before closing the app

After you've completed this process, you should start receiving notifications on your Charge 5 from the apps you selected.

Hi & welcome @Virtue55

Sorry, I'm not sure that I understand your question. What kind of messages are you wanting to send to your Charge 5?

Your Charge 5 can receive notifications for phone calls & text messages. When you swipe left from the clock face, you're able to read the message from the Notification tile on your device. You can also set it up to receive notifications from other compatible apps on your phone. For example, I have my Charge 5 set up to notify me for Google Chat messages & Google Voice calls.

If this doesn't answer your question, please let us know so we can help you.

Thanks for your reply,

Just messages like a Google Chat message, or voice call would. Seems like it only supports compatible apps and not your own apps?
