Set up interval training on Charge 5

I am trying to set up intervals for a run/walk workout. The steps I’ve found online get me part way there but then I hit a dead end. Is this feature still available, or yet another victim of the FitBit dismantling by Google?

@SharkyGK23   I did a little searching and I hope I found the answer for you.  Your Charge 5 has the same firmware version as my Luxe.  I charged my Luxe and put it on a different Fitbit account.  Please try this path:

  • Tap on your device/battery icon on your Fitbit app, then your Charge 5 tile
  • Tap on Device preferences, then Exercise shortcuts (really)
  • If Interval Workout isn't on the list you see, tap Edit, remove something, then add Interval Workout
  • Now tap on that to see the settings
  • I recommend using Move as your run interval and Rest as your walk interval

Adding or removing activities on the app doesn't change what you see on your Charge 5 screen.  It still has all your shortcuts separated into your Recents and everything else.

I don't know what Google genius thought this is intuitive, but it sure isn't.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SharkyGK23.

Thanks for letting me know your situation in regards to setting up an interval training for your Charge 5. I understand how you can feed if you were not able to do it before, I'll do my best to help you.

I recommend you to check this article in which you can find how to set up an interval, under the section 'Build your perfect run with the custom workout builder', click in the Fitbit App under that section do know how.

I don’t see “Build a Run” as an option anywhere.

@SharkyGK23   I'm sorry, but @CrisVillaFitbit gave you incorrect information.  The build a perfect workout is a Pixel Watch feature, not a Charge 6 feature.  I'm sorry but I can't help you set up your intervals.  If I remember correctly, the Charge 5 had Exercise shortcuts on the Fitbit app when it was released.  A firmware update moved all the shortcuts to the Charge 5.  Can you describe the paths that you took?

Thank you. I saw that the instructions said Pixel but thought maybe they were universal. I have the Charge 5. In the app, I tried both of the directions given in the Pixel instructions, but found nothing in the Today or Coach tabs that would work. I also tried on the device itself. I selected “Interval Workout” but there’s no way to set intervals there either that I saw.

Thank you so much! Who would ever look there for that?! I didn’t even know that section existed!
