Sleep Data in 2 parts.

Hi.

I’ve noticed that, although I wear my Charge 5 every night, the recent sleep score is split in two. There is a result for the evening that I go to bed, the a second one for 2 - 3 hours the following morning, usually starting at around 2am.
The score then seems to be based on the second result, basing my score on 2 - 3 hours sleep!

I’ve tried the setting on both ‘normal’ and ‘sensitive’.

I do get up to the bathroom a couple of times during the night but only for a minute or so, and go back to sleep straight away.
Any suggestions would be appreciated please.

Thank you.

If the two sleep periods are within an hour of each other, then the two periods will be merged.

If your first period ends before midnight, it may be recorded for the previous night.. You will see If you see Two periods in the allow record the times will be combined on the dashboard. If both sleep periods have a score, then the two scores will be taken into consideration.

@Wibby usually when we see simple sleep we will also see the reason below the graph.

Sorry I'm having issues with screen shots on the new phone.

Yep, been getting the same thing…

would be nice if we could just manually edit when this happens…. If it can’t be fixed quick and easy anyway…

Kinda frustrating

Hello @SunsetRunner and @JasonW-1990

When your sleep is cut into two pieces, are there sleep stages for both parts or just one?

It sometimes happens to me and doesn’t track the stages properly (possibly because I slept in an awkward position).  I’m quite sad when it happens because I want to see my stages and get a score.

You can edit the time you’re asleep to cover the whole night but it won’t fill in the empty sleep stages.

If you do want to try editing, you have to delete one of the parts (the one without stages would be the best choice) by tapping on the 3 dots at the top right and selecting Delete Log. Then go to the remaining part, tap on the 3 dots at the top right, select Edit Log and then put in the new start and/end times.

What you end up with isn’t pretty.  I’m attaching an example of one of mine, but it does cover the time you were in bed at least.

I’d say about 98% of the time my sleep’s tracked properly and I get a sleep score too.

I understand your frustration when it doesn’t work for you.

Hopefully some of that helps a bit.

Thanks for your reply.
There are 2 sleep times - the longest is on the night I go to sleep, which I do very quickly! It then seems to finish early the next morning but then shows another cycle.
My summary shows sleep for today (Saturday 15th uk time) but I haven’t been to bed yet as it’s still evening here!

Or am I missing something……..?

Mine gets cut into two parts quite frequently and I edit it as described earlier. Delete one and edit the other. In my case it always seems to fill in correctly, although not immediately.

Rich, night before last I had two sleep periods and they were more than three hours apart yet they merged perfectly with data filling in when edited. I don’t often get divided sleep reports anymore but when I do there’s often more than an hour between them,  but the data fills in.

When you edit the sleep giving an start and stop, fitbit uses these times and not the times fitbit calculated.

Rich, When editing I use the times that I have already seen in the 2 parts. They are the start and end times that Fitbit recorded.  Usually, I just delete part one and use that start time when editing part 2.
