My Charge 5 splits my sleep tracking into 2 sessions many nights with several hours between sessions. I know I wasn’t awake during those times. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I’ve used the information from the hyperlink you provided. I still have the problem. I’m attaching a screenshot of my sleep tracking. As you can see, my sleep was split into 2 sessions on Sunday night and last night. I was not awake during the gaps in tracking. Any suggestions?

Hello @Gerristewart

Every now & then, my tracked sleep gets divided into 2 logs. I haven't figured out what causes this. Although it's a bit annoying, the good news is that we can edit the tracked sleep in the Fitbit app to make it a single log. To do this:

  • Tap on the Sleep tile on the Today page in the Fitbit app to get to the Sleep page
  • Swipe up to get to the day that you want to fix
  • Make a note of when you started your sleep & when you woke up for that day
  • Tap on the short sleep log for that day to open the page
  • Tap on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right and tap on Delete Log
  • Tap on the longer sleep log for that day to open the page
  • Tap on the pencil icon to edit your sleep start and end time.
    • Make the corrections.
    • Tap Save in the upper right.
  • Tap on the arrows in the upper left to get back to the Today page.
  • Do a manual sync

It's been my experience that it can take some time - an hour or so - for the Fitbit app to update the sleep log, including length of sleep, score, and stages. BTW, you can use the same steps to fix your sleep start or wake up time, which also happens to me every now & then

Don't worry about deleting a sleep log and whether that's going to mess up your sleep data. It took me a while to realize that deleting a sleep log only deletes the time frame and not the tracked data, which is still on your Fitbit.

Don't wait too long to fix your sleep logs. Your Charge 5 is supposed to keep tracked data for about 7 days. After that, there isn't a way to recover the data if it doesn't get synced with the app.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.
