Steps aren’t syncing up

My wrist showed 12,252 steps. I tried to sync to app but app only updated to 8,405 steps. I turned phone off/on, updated a bunch of times and it’s stuck on 8,405. I charged fit bit for a little and at first the battery wasn’t changing but after a few tries went from 56% to 84%. So I synced again. Instead of phone updating to 12,252, my Fitbit went backwards to 8,405. This is second or third time now I lost a large hunk of steps. What the heck? Is the Fitbit charge 5 just that crappily made?  I’m not buying another 5 for sure so how do I fix or is the 6 coming soon?  Any help to get my steps back?

My Charge 5 is doing the same unfortunately not as many steps 🥴 as you.

I have turned my phone off and on also Bluetooth of and on with no luck. The Fitbit is paired to my phone, the battery is at 66%.

I have lost the notification to move each hour and notification of achieved steps.

Help, I am so disappointed with Fitbit

@Tsg91 @Koot. Welcome to the community forums.

Thanks for sharing the details about this issue with your Charge 5.

Before considering other aspects, I'll suggest you to troubleshoot your Fitbit app following these steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  4. Check if the steps recording is available now.

Also, to recover the missing steps I'd recommend you to manually log your walk following these steps.
