Switched to Google Account and Fitbit no longer works

I switched over from my fitbit account to the Google account and immediately after doing so my screen no longer works and my fitbit won't sync with the app.  I tried pressing the button on the charging cord to reset, but it did nothing.  The only thing it did was show the fit bit logo and it makes the noise when you connect it to the charger.  I deleted the charge 5 and got it to pair with app, but still no screen and won't sync again to the app.  It is now completely useless without a screen and it not syncing.  Cannot get work what so ever, and I have only owned this for just over a year.

Exactly what has happened to me.  I have a firmware update to apply from the Fitbit app but the application fails.  Watch is now useless.

This happened to me also.   I thought there was something wrong with Charge 5 so I sent it back after an hour with customer support and got a new one same thing.  Called customer support again and they had me Uninstall the app,  remove it from bluetooth(which wasn't an option for me)  restart my phone and reinstall the app.   It did sync after this.
