Why does tachycardic heart rate log as exercise when I'm sitting still?

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Joy51.
Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the Charge 5.
Before considering other options, could you please provide a few more details? Let me know exactly where you're seeing and what type of exercise is being logged to your account? If possible, could you please share a screenshot as well?
I'll be around.

Sure, here's some screenshots of the day I was questioning. Also I included a screenshot of a different app recording the same event just so you can see I wasn't exercising (64 steps recorded over a 10 minute span of time with an elevated "Cardio" heart rate.)
I was just wondering because it's very common for me to be sitting there talking with my family and my watch will say good job you're in the burn zone. LOL They all say way to go mom! 😂
I bought the watch to monitor health issues as well as sleep data.
Thank you for your time.
Happy New Year 🎉
I can't attach pictures 😢

@Joy51 Thank you for sharing this update.
Before considering other options, in order to refresh the settings and make sure that your activities are being recorded properly, I recommend that you try restarting the device again using the three pulse restart method mentioned here below, instead of the restart option found on the Charge 5 itself:
In addition, please follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information and check the information mentioned here about other factors that could affect your heart rate reading, this has been useful to other users who have experienced something similar. Let me know if you continue to experience the behavior you mentioned early.
Hope this helps, I'll be around, and Happy New Year to you too!

Same happens to me. I think there is not a way for it to differentiate between active physical activity and increased heart rate due to other issues. So I have used the alerts in a way that I can take advantage. Whenever it vibrates and congratulates me for cardio I'm not doing, I put the brakes on. Meaning, if my heart rate has increased for non-physical activity and I know it is because it is flopping around, I stop and breathe and practice mindfulness until my HR goes down. (This happens most often at work, which is stressful) Recently, I received an alert that my heart rate has decreased and that my "longer-term regular exercise efforts could be paying off." Well, I know it was not exercise that made that happen. My overall resting heart rate has simply gone down to more appropriate levels. Ironically, I feel better lately so the FitBit is basically confirming what I already feel. Soon, I'll give it a run for its money with real cardio. 🙂
