Text messages are not coming through my Charge 5

I am getting calls notifications, no text notifications on Charge 5.  I have repeated the instructions, restart, remove/re add, bluetooth, everything at least 3 times.  Everything is exactly how it's supposed to be.  New iphone 13. Again, all notifications are turned on. Getting calls, NOT getting text notifications

Hi there, @nrthrngurl. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and taking the time to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. 

Since you're an iOS user, I was wondering if the text messages that your Charge 5 is not receiving are iMessages? I also have an iPhone and had a similar trouble with those messages. However, the way I fixed it was by trying to toggle the iMessage setting; general > Messages > iMessage and verified the "Show Previews" was on "Always". All good with my text messages now.

I have done everything suggested on here and from web searches.  I have deleted/removed fitbit, bluetooth, EVERYTHING!  And still do NOT receive texts.  Will get phone call notifications, NO texts.  Checked all cell settings, everything good. I now believe this watch is defective.  This is the biggest problem, there are a couple other issues with it as well.  Unless you can suggest a different option, I am going to have to believe this watch is garbage!  I have gone to extremes, several times.  Watch is new'ish, purchased earlier this year.  Worked and now doesn't.  SOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!
