The steps that helped me with my Charge 5 battery issues

Hi everyone, I bought fitbit (used) 2 months ago to monitor my sleep. I really liked this watch and it helped me. In the last 3 weeks I started to face this same problem, battery draining just at night when I need the data and during the day too, of course. Looking for solutions, I saw a user who eased the problem by giving several resets. Well, his tip was chosen, for 3 days he gave several resets, with a USB cable and on the clock, both with battery and without battery. I also let it charge to 100% and continued letting it charge for several hours. For some reason, it's back to normal, today it's been 5 days since I charged it and it's still at 77% battery. In the app, I turned off almost all notifications that I don't need, health-related ones are on, I'm on version 188.58. I hope you try and succeed. Good Luck.

Hello there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the workaround that did the trick for you. I'm sure your post will be so helpful to other users.

I would like to invite you to visit our Health & Wellness where you will find great tips and encouragement from other members.

Nevertheless, in general, it is recommended to follow the recommendations listed in this article to improve or extend battery life.  T
here are a few features that would make the battery drain faster than usual, even in one day. Some of these features are:

  • Built-in GPS (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 4 days when using this feature regularly, or up to 5 hours if you use it continuously).
  • Always-on display (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 3 days when using this feature).
  • Tracking SpO2 (Fitbit points out in this article that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when collecting SpO2 data).

Marre, thanks for your tips. But I don't use the gps because I have a treadmill at home. The spo2 is already important for my health and I don't think that's the problem, the fb5 worked fine with everything turned on, but something made it go into this looping of draining the battery. I'll wait this week and if it stays stable I'll turn on all notifications again, one every 2 days to monitor and try to find out if it's something related to this. My opinion and I understand a little about computers and other items is that it is a software problem, because mine is back to normal, that is, hardware is ok, but with something draining the battery. I'll post if I have news.

My Fitbit 5 is having a problem with discharging again, and it won't stop. This time it didn't even work with the tip above. Interestingly, the app was updated on the 6th at night and the problem returned shortly afterwards. That's why I insist on saying, the watch (hardware) is good, the problem is in the software, they changed or are changing something they shouldn't have and now there's a bunch of devices inoperative.
